Q: Your first impression when the 6 of you met for the first time?
A: Nichkhun who entered the agency at about the same time with me, couldn’t speak Korean and I had the impression of ‘a really handsome male foreigner’ of him.
I met Jun. K for the first time at dance lesson, but in the beginning we talked with honorifics as we both thought of each other as the ‘hyung’. Later on, we know that we both were born in 1988 so we said “let’s drop the formality”. The fact is, Jun. K is an early 1988er so he’s a year ahead of me. (laughs).
I met Junho and Chansung in an audition, and I remember they became popular back then as Junho looked like singer Rain (Bi) and Chansung looked like actor Kang Dongwon (laughs).
Wooyoung who got in through the audition the lastest, cared nothing about us who were practicing for the showcase performance beside him. I remember people saying “There’s a special boy” since he was lost in his own practice only. (laughs)
KHUN PART :
Q: What was your first impression on the members?
A: When I first reached Korea, the first person I saw at the dorms was Jun. K. And because I couldn’t speak Korean, so we both used English to converse, and he would bring me to meaningful places, play with me, and right from the start we both were very good friends as he was a really nice guy.
Taecyeon knew how to speak English, so he became my translator. And because we were always together, my Korean didn’t improve, so the company made sure that we separated (laughs).
My first impression of Junho was that he was very insistent on completing things well.
Chansung at that time had quite a bit of acting schedules so we didn’t really see each other. Initially I thought he was older than me so I used formal respective language to greet him, only to find out later that he was 2 years younger than me.
Wooyoung was the last member that I met, he came to my room and greeted ‘I’m from Busan, please take good care of me’ and I still remember it.
JUNHO PART :
Q: Please tell us your first impression of your fellow members.
A: At first, I thought that Chansung was the oldest, I even used honorifics towards him, when I realized that we were actually the same age, I clapped his back and said “what, why do you have the face of a well-aged man?” (laughs)
Wooyoung, when he woke up in the dorm in the morning, found out that we were sleeping in the same room. (laughs) Although we were the same age, even after I respectfully told him “we don’t have to use honorifics”, he was still very polite and said “no, because this is our first meeting.” That truly left a deep impression on me.
I met Taecyeon in the survival show, my first thought was “it seems that he’s really good at school.” When they selected the final 12 people, Taecyeon was selected and said “great!” in English. I was so impressed “wah~ he can even speak English!” (laughs)
Nichkhun is not only handsome but very polite, he has the image of a gentle gentleman. K is very lively, he used to have a huge sweet tooth. He loved to eat crispy donuts. (laughs) How nostalgic~
